On My Wishlist (#16)

On My Wishlist is a bookish meme hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It's where you list all the books you desperately want but haven't actually bought yet.
So, here's what I've on my wishlist today:

Just like my last week's pick, I came across this book in a Goodreads Group discussion.
Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter by Tom Franklin
Add to Amazon Cart | Add to Goodreads TBR
Goodreads Summary:
"In the late 1970s, Larry Ott and Silas Jones were boyhood pals. Their worlds were as different as night and day: Larry, the child of lower-middle-class white parents, and Silas, the son of a poor, single black mother. Yet for a few months the boys stepped outside of their circumstances and shared a special bond. But then tragedy struck: Larry took a girl on a date to a drive-in movie, and she was never heard from again. She was never found and Larry never confessed, but all eyes rested on him as the culprit. The incident shook the county—and perhaps Silas most of all. His friendship with Larry was broken, and then Silas left town.

This Week's Question:

"What is your favorite type of Candy?"
My Answer:
Although I gave up on candies in the middle of my teens because of the fear of bad teeth, it doesn't mean I hate candies. I just forgot that. My favorite candies are anything with chocolate in it.

This Week's Question:

"It’s time to spread some love beyond the borders of the Book Blogger Hop! This week, we aren’t answering a question. We are spotlighting our fellow bloggers. Find your favorite(s) author interview(s), guest post(s), book review(s), or bookish article(s) that ANOTHER BOOK BLOGGER featured on their site recently and tell us why you love it/them! As an additional challenge, find your favorite one of EACH of the categories above and spotlight all 4 (interview, guest post, review, article)."
My Answer:
Difficult question. It took a long time to recall and I had to hop back to everyone's blog to get the post link. May be my google reader can help.

Author Interview + Giveaway: Lisa Lim | Confessions of a Call Center Gal

Hi, everybody!
Today I have the honor of interviewing author Lisa Lim. I read and reviewed her chick lit novel "Confessions of a Call Center Gal" a short time ago and loved it. I'm so excited to have her on my blog. So here's my interview with Lisa Lim.

KBB: First of all, Lisa, tell us something about you?
Lisa: I’m a chick lit junkie and I’m a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella, Marian Keyes and Emily Giffin. To me, chick lit is like junk food for my brain (and I LOVE junk food). I do read serious fiction and heavy lit, but gritty realism gets me down and I hate ambiguous endings. Sometimes I don’t want to think deep thoughts; sometimes I just want a good laugh.
On a more personal note, after I graduated with my journalism degree, I served as Copy Editor at Desktop Journal. Then I went on to do technical writing for a software company. When I wanted to settle down and start a family, I started working at a call center. But I’m happy to say that I’m now a full time writer and an ex-call center gal.
